Produced for the new music venue on campus at the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK. The client wanted a retro themed look with a "rustic" theme. Personally i dont like the gradient background but they loved it...what do you guys think??

Nah, simple gradient backgrounds don't always look good. in this case the attention is on the foreground anyway, but yea still...this might've been more satisfying if you used horizontal lines of diff. thickness with an overlay. I like how simple it is, though :)

hmmm nice thinking, ill give that a go! At the moment ive tried it on plain black and it looks ten times better - will upload that version soon!

(and ive not forgotten to critic your stuff, just been rather snowed under!!)

Haha, no worries man :) I'm not fiendin for it too bad lol.

Another little trick that you can do that works really well is to put a simple texture or pattern on top of it, especially to enrich or flatten color

I can see what you mean about the gradient but I bet it looks spot on when printed onto leaflets/posters.
